If you are in the far northern latitudes...northern US and Canada, northern Europe, Russia or conversely the far southern latitudes of New Zealand and Australia...starting now in the middle of winter I would take the following..
2000iu of Vitamin D3 for one to two weeks to see if you have side effects such as fatigue or tiredness. You should feel good. You may have some itching during the first few weeks this may last about 4-6 days. Take all supplements with meals anytime during the day. The ibuprofen with fluid at the evening meal or an evening snack before bed.
So starting in Fall.., I would start at 2000iu...after a couple of months increase the vitamin D to 3000-5000 iu depending on body size ..i found my best winter levels at 3000iu and a corresponding 2-3 capsules of fish oil and now daily homemade yogurt
and include
the one ibuprofen,
the small multivitamin
100-500 mcg of b12
50-200mg of enteric coated peppermint oil between meals and/or 15-20 peppermint altoids/day and especially in winter i would try daily yogurt,..preferably home made as it can be much more potent....yogurt is something to especially consider if flairing
100 mcg of selenium
fish oil...3 capsules optional
flax oil 2x1000mg optional
optional 400mcg folic acid..
100 mcg of selenium
fish oil...3 capsules optional
flax oil 2x1000mg optional
optional 400mcg folic acid..
500mg calcium
Vitamin D comes in international units (iu) or micrograms (mcg or ug)
1000iu = 25mcg or ug
I suggest a calcidiol 25(OH)D blood test in 8-12 wks.
Upon the return of spring i would drop the D to 1000-2000iu/day with sun.
For the vitamin D ..i would take an oil filled gelcap. It should be in 1000iu or 2000iu doses for convenience and contain only Vitamin D3(cholecalciferol) and an oil such as sunflower, soy or olive oil and gelatin...no vitamin A.
If you have or can only find the hard white pills of vitamin D then take with a full meal and find the gelcaps of D3 in oil when possible.
You should feel good on barneys formula.. if you don't then quit taking it.
Moods should be better...sleep better. fewer colds or infections Changes should begin after a few weeks...progress is slow this time of year but it should help quite a bit..
