What size peppermint?
Usually it comes enteric coated so it opens in the small intestine and in 50mg, or 200mg or .2fl (187mg) doses
peak levels are achieved about an hour after you take it...so for the effect in the small intestine, approx one capsule a half to one hour before meals..
In IBS studies, the usual dosage was the .2fl ..one or two before meals...Some take the 200mg...i take the 50mg 3-4 times a day..but some days i forget entirely...it seems with time i need less...some days i just take it between meals on an empty stomach
..the actual effect on the small intestine may not need food for effect...i also take peppermint altoids randomly
Do i have to take the one ibuprofen?
>>>For most, the low dose is safe and yes, it appears for the formula to be effective, the ibuprofen is needed. Results without it are about 60%. For children, see a doctor and anyone with asthma (especially children) see a doctor first.
What dose of Vitamin D in the spring and summer?
>>>I suggest 1000iu-1500iu with sun. In the fall and winter this would increase to 3-5000iu/day depending on bodyweight
Can I take Barneys "lite"...just the D, ibuprofen and multivitamin?
>>>>You can, some have cleared on it. I believe the best clearing includes the b12,folate and fish oil or flax oil..and peppermint
What if i only can find the hard pills of vitamin D and i can't find the soft gels?
>>>>Although the softs seem to be better absorbed...the hard pills will work fine if taken with a full meal which contains some fat or oil. The hard pill with a piece of fruit won't work...it has to be a meal..milk.oil,meat,butter,peanut butter etc, salad dressing..
Can i take the formula all at once?
>>>> yes...any time of the day or all at once...but with a meal or snack...if you take the fish oil, i would buy enteric coated or burpless..and take it with a meal. Ibuprofen can interfere with the good effects of the fish oil so i would take the one ibu in the evening.
How much Vitamin D is safe?
>>>> The safe upper limit for most children and adults is 2000iu/day. Some prominent scientists believe this should be raised to 10,000iu/day. Some with previous conditions such as sarcoidosisis, some lymphomas, hyperparathyroidism can not take supplemental Vitamin D since their condition already makes too much. Most in the northern and far southern latitudes, especially in winter, have a serious deficit of Vitamin D.
Why doesn't my doctor know about Vitamin D and test for it?
>>>>>This is new information for most including doctors. It was only in the last few years that some of the many good effects of vitamin D has been determined. In the past it was thought to basically regulate calcium levels. Recent discoveries have added to it's related effects on immune response as well as many organ systems. Watch the Doctors video i posted to get a better understanding then i can give.
It says Vitamin A is included with my Vitamin D..should I take it?
No, Some companies add vitamin A to their D, we do not want any additional vitamin A above what is in the small multivitamin ...and that should only be 3000iu of A or less.
I have started and get severe itching, what do you think?
>>>>For many, a week of itching is normal and i think part of the healing process. If itching is bothersome or a concern then i would back off the formula for a few days and either start with smaller doses or take one ingredient for a few days and add the rest at a slower pace.
I took an extra ibuprofen if the itching was severe and load up on eucerine lotion....but it seems to only affect some and then for about a week.
i will add more ..if anyone has any questions..email me and i'll post them..
